Missy Risseeuw- Yoga Instructor

Missy grew up in Keizer, Oregon and now lives in Sheridan on a farm with her family. Missy married her best friend and they have two sons together. She has enjoyed working with children in a daycare and preschool most of her life. Missy has experience in office management and uses those skills and knowledge in running her family business--a wedding venue on their property.

When asked about her journey with yoga, Missy said, “I first fell in love with fitness in my early 20s when I trained for bodybuilding shows, and heavy weightlifting. Deciding that bodybuilding wasn't for me, I discovered a passion for health and fitness, including yoga. My love for yoga stems from being able to assist people in relaxing, rejuvenating their bodies, and finding that they have more potential than they realize. The art of yoga goes beyond just being flexible. It can improve so much of our well-being, not just physically but mentally. If we have mental health in check, it is a game changer for our overall wellness. I have a degree in community health from Western Oregon. I really enjoy doing anything where I can connect with others, creating relationships with people, and learning their life stories.”

A hidden talent about Missy is her talents with singing. She sang a duet with her husband at their wedding, while he played the guitar. She gets nervous singing in front of others, so not many people know that about her.
